Sikorsky S-92

The S-92 is a heavy lift helicopter designed for multiple roles, but primarily service to the offshore oil industry. It was intended to leverage technologies and lessons learned from the Black Hawk and H-60 models. The FAA certification board called the S-92 the “safest helicopter in the world.” This probably contributes to the fact that heads of state for 13 countries fly in S-92s, along with many other VIPs. In 2014, a variant of the S-92 won the US Navy contract to become the new “Marine One” transport to carry the president.

Sikorsy S-92 swept, tapered anhedral blade tips

The S-92 features swept, tapered anhedral main rotor blade tips which reportedly improve lift and maneuverability, and may decrease noise. The aircraft does produce substantial vibration, however, which is partially mitigated via an active vibration control system.
